The St Nicholas Singers
The St. Nicholas Singers was formed by Jean Gibbins, at the turn of the Millennium to raise money for the Boldre Church 2000 Appeal. They have since gone from strength to strength, giving pleasure to choir members and audiences alike, and concerts locally and abroad. The choir’s repertoire is wide ranging, encompassing secular and sacred music from the seventeenth to the twentieth centuries, including opera, orchestral and a capella works. The choir, directed by Helen Woodgates, rehearses weekly in the St. Nicholas’ chapel in Pilley and donate in the region of £6000 each year to local charities. The St Nicholas Singers are thrilled to be named 'Choir-in-Residence' for the Nova Foresta Classical Players.
